H2Opia gives you the opportunity to build and maintain a unique second home in a beautiful underwater utopia. As you participate in your H2Opian neighborhood, the developers of H2Opia will make monthly donations to charities like Water Aid that provide clean water and sanitation to people in need around the world. To become an H₂Opian:

First, select the body of water in which you'd like to locate your H₂Opian home.

H₂Opian communities are located in real bodies of water, but space in each lake or river is limited. New H₂Opian communities will open as bodies of water fill with H₂Opian homes. Once H₂Opian communities have been established in several bodies of water, you'll have the opportunity to participate in the underwater community of the body of water in which your H₂Opian home is located and/or relocate to a different body of water to be closer to friends and family.

Next, select the style of house you'd like to build.

There are three styles of H₂Opian homes: research station, castle, and dome.

Each style of house has three levels: starter home, family haven (shown here), and mansion. Your first H₂Opian dwelling will be a starter home.

Once you're an H₂Opian:

Enjoy the fish, and send fish to friends.

Each type of fish has a different personality and characteristics, which you can read about here.

For every 24 fish you send, H₂Opia will make a donation that will fund approximately one day of clean water for one person. The more fish you send, the more types of fish you'll be able to send. As you progress to new levels of fish satisfaction (by sending fish to friends), you'll be able to send more kinds of fish, which will be able to multiply in your waters.

Keep your water clean.

Fish are free to swim where they please, and they won't stick around for dirty water. You can clean your water by clicking on the clean water button to the right of your H₂Opian home. Cleaning water is a lot of work, and you can only do so much cleaning in a day. Your friends can help you keep the water clean, too, and only your friends can make your water sparkling clean.

Make home improvements.

To make home improvements, you need materials and labor. You'll be able to build on to your H₂Opian home once you have enough HouseParts that match your home style, and enough HelpingHands points to complete the work. As you spend time in your H₂Opian home, you'll find house parts in your realm that correspond to the different house styles. You can send the parts that you don't need to friends to get HelpingHands points, and you can request the HouseParts that you need from friends who have them.

Expand your domain.

Once you've built yourself an underwater mansion and have achieved the highest level of fish satisfaction, you'll have the chance to expand your underwater empire and become an H₂Opian real estate mogul. Come join us underwater! You'll have fun and make a real difference in the lives of others while you're at it!
